The rediscovery of grecia in Calabria

In April associations girifalcesi Archeoclub Girifalco and Connecting Europe, with patronicio Pro Loco of Girifalco, will promote two cultural initiatives dedicated to Calabria, its history, its heritage, its beauty. The first of these initiatives will take place on Friday April 21, 2017, at the municipal bibblioteca "R. Rubbettino "of Girifalco in via the republic. The representatives of the associations of tourism and cultural promotion Pro-Loco and Archeoclub will discuss the book "historic artistic heritage of Calabria" with the author Silvio Gatto. The book, available in e-book format, was included in the prestigious Alphabet of Treccani. The presentation and discussion are aimed at sensitizing the population on the importance of enhancement of Calabria, the protection and preservation of historical and artistic heritage of the region. Following will be presented the second initiative, connected and coordinated and inspired by the book of Silvio Gatto: "A journey through the Calabriae: the rediscovery of the historical and artistic heritage of Calabria", travel round with guided tours to experience and explore the many facets of a wonderful region, inserted by the New York Times in the ranking of "52 places to visit in 2017." the initiative "a journey through the Calabriae" will start on Sunday, April 23, 2017 with the first stage dedicated to Sybaris and Altomonte. the second event will instead take place in June with a guided visit to the archaeological park of Locri. The unveiling promoting associations in the coming weeks other 4 stages of July, August, September and October, anticipating that all trips of this first edition will be mainly dedicated to the rediscovery of Magna Grecia in Calabria.
